Congratulation Gracie De La Cruz, Gallardo's 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year and KENS 5 Excel Award Winner!!!

       Attendance is Important!!!!

Not only is it required by law in Texas, but here at Gallardo Attendance is Fun!!!!!

All students with perfect attendance and no tardies play attendance football.  At the end of each 6-weeks, students with footballs still in play get to participate in a fun activity like a movie or a dance party.

Help your children keep playing by bringing them every day and bringing them on time.  Students--don't fumble your football.   Have fun playing!!

Children with excessive absences may not be able to advance to the next grade.  An attendance committee will have to review the situation to determine if the child qualifies for promotion to the next grade.

GALLARDO ELEMENTARY

DESIGNATED A "SCHOOL OF PROMISE" IN 2010 BY THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING.

PROUDLY PIONEERING THE EXAMPLE
THAT OTHER SCHOOLS FOLLOW IN SOUTHSIDE I.S.D!

Gallardo Teachers all pitched in for a successful Reading "Peek a Book" event in the gym and cafeteria on October 17.  Parents and students had a great time and went home with published books and books and projects they had made themselves.  Southside's own Sandy Treviso shared a reading from her books, available for sale at local HEB stores.  Students really enjoyed the show.
