JULIAN C. GALLARDO ELEMENTARY'S MISSION

The mission of Julian C. Gallardo Elementary is to provide our students success in learning through the individual development of attitudes, skills, knowledge and responsibility essential to successful achievement in school and society.
We develop knowledge and skills through a unified TAP School Goal—this year it is cross curriculum reading comprehension.
We develop attitudes and responsibility through a unified behavior support system—an adapted version of PBIS.
We develop attitudes and responsibility through partnership with the community in programs such as:
  • Girl Scouts of America
  • Careers on Wheels
  • Gallardo PTO
  • San Antonio Police Department Drug Awareness Programs
  • Miss Fiesta San Antonio Association visit
  • The Assistance League of San Antonio
  • San Antonio Chapter of the Red Cross
  • San Antonio Chapter of the Salvation Army
  • Our own Student Council
  • Our own Patrols

ATTENTION PARENTS:
Gallardo students are required and
encouraged to read for 15-20 minutes every night!

Some ways that you can help your child enjoy reading are:
  • Make reading a priority in your household.
  • Let your child see YOU reading!
  • Have books available almost everywhere in your home.
  • Make the last half-hour before bed "Reading Time".
  • Read to your younger children, or have your older children read to them.
  • Use video games only as a reward AFTER students have finished their reading.
You may click on the following link for more ideas to make reading more fun for both you and your child:

               Attendance is Important!!!!

All students with perfect attendance and no tardies have the chance to participate in fun activities at the end of each 6-weeks. Suggestions are always welcomed to motivate students to come to school.

Help your children go in a college direction by bringing them every day and bringing them on time.

Students--don't give up on your dreams of higher education.  - C.U. in college.

Children with excessive absences may not be able to advance to the next grade, due to state attendance requirements

Nutrikids has changed to myschoolbucks.com.  If you want to check your child's cafeteria account, add funds to his account, or check them menu, you can do so at this website.
